A note from Bill

It is with a bittersweet heart that I am announcing the upcoming closure of Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue. Since signing our lease back in 2012, we have been so touched by this wonderfully welcoming community. And as we look toward 2022, ten years later having served countless slabs of ribs and chili macs, I thank you for your kindness and generosity. From day one, you have made us feel right at home smoking our barbecue in one of Brooklyn's most spirited neighborhoods.

Over the years, there have been an enormous number of hard-working souls building the Fletcher's name. From our birth here in Gowanus, to the West Side Highway, the South Street Seaport, the Rockaways, Industry City, and Downtown Brooklyn. We have had the pleasure of working with an undeniably diverse, talented, nutty, and passionate crew over the past decade. Too many names to list, and even more wonderful memories to recall. People are what ultimately make up any business, and we have been blessed to have some of the best in the industry crafting our barbecue for you.

While the past 22 months of pandemic-life have certainly been a challenge, it is not the reason we are closing our doors. Put simply, 10 years is a good run and it's time for new adventures. I have scoped out a new spot in my home state of Massachusetts, and am currently building an evolution of Fletcher's up north. If anyone wants to take a road trip, keep a look-out online for news as that project develops.

Here in Brooklyn, we will continue serving our menu through December 23rd, and will then take the following few weeks to clean up our joint for the next eager entrepreneur.

Thank you for your support this past decade. You are the reason we have been here this long, and I am forever grateful. Now, come on in and order up some of your favorites while the fires are still burning!

With much love and gratitude,

- Bill Fletcher
